GUIDELINE FOR UNIFIED INTERPRETATION OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR MATERIALS WHICH MAY LIQUEFY
1 In accordance with regulation VI/6 of SOLAS 1974. as amended, concentrates or other cargoes which may liquefy shall oniy be accepted for loading when the actual moisture content of the cargo is less than its Transportable Moisture Limit (TMI).
2 This guideline is for clarifying the scope of the application of the requirements for materials which may liquefy. The annex of this guideline presents the procedure for evaluating liquefaction potential of solid bulk materials. If a shipper or master of a ship have doubts that the cargo is Iiable to liquefy at a certain moisture contentthe procedure in the annex is recommended to be applied to the material.
3 Member Governments are invited to bring this Circular to the attention of all concerned,with the aim of appropriate application of the requirements.
